Friday at Auschwitz Birkenau

  1. It does not always take much to get me to cry (just ask Lynne)but my tears this morning took me by great surprise. Just looking at the pictures from today just opened me up. The tower, the walls, the tracks, the car, the people - history and human lives screaming out to us...this coupled with the reflections from the past few days just hit home.

I can imagine that just about now in your journey, it's starting to feel like quite a trip - perhaps in many ways. May you have the strength to get through, sound shoulders to lean on, an open heart and maybe, just maybe, six straight hours of sleep....

  2. I too, keep experiencing the emotion of my daughter's trip. A vicarious experience to be sure! But this reminds me to remember the current atrocities occuring in the world as I write. I hope my daughter's wisdom, gleaned from this experience, will be put to use to help stop further atrocites in the world. I will ride on her shirttails...and do the same. Already this trip has impacted more people than just those who are taking the trip. Many of my daughter's family and friends are following this blog...and I think too, they are impacted. I also commend these young people for taking a journey of soul and conscience. May they all be well of spirit so as to be strong in the sharing of their witness. Lib. I love you. And all the rest of you in the journey. Pattie
